Dogo Kaishu （道後 海舟）

A Japanese restaurant founded in 1983 in Higashino, Matsuyama, driven by a desire to share the appeal of Ehime’s ingredients with a wider audience. After operating in Ichibancho, a bustling downtown district, it relocated to Dogo in 2020.

The restaurant primarily uses ingredients sourced from within Ehime Prefecture, obtaining produce directly from local farmers and fishermen while also working closely with fishmongers and greengrocers to maintain strong ties with the community. Its cuisine showcases the bounty of the sea, mountains, and rivers, with a focus on seafood from the Seto Inland Sea. Seasonal offerings include wild sea bream and mountain vegetables in spring; sweetfish caught by the former owner using traditional tomozuri (a live‑decoy fishing method) in summer; river crab, returning bonito, and matsutake mushrooms in autumn; and wild game such as boar and pufferfish in winter.

Inside, the restaurant offers an L‑shaped counter, private rooms with sunken kotatsu seating, and private dining rooms with tables, all within a warm, wood‑accented interior. Whether dining with family or friends or hosting a business meal, guests can savor the seasonal flavors of Ehime in a warm and inviting atmosphere.

  If you have any specific food allergies or ingredients you cannot consume, please inform us in advance. Unfortunately, we cannot accept reservations if there are ingredients that you cannot eat within a wide range.

  Please note that we are unable to accommodate guests with fish allergies or guests who cannot eat or dislike fish.

  Guests with allergies are kindly requested to indicate the severity of their symptoms as well.

• Arrival time:

  Please arrive 5 minutes before your reserved time to ensure a timely start of your meal.

  Counter seating begins promptly at 6:00 PM. The meal will begin once all guests are seated. Kindly ensure that all members of your party arrive on time for your reservation.

  If you arrive more than 15 minutes past your reserved time, your reservation will be automatically canceled.

• Dress Code:

  Dress code is smart casual (Please refrain from wearing T-shirts, shorts, and sandals when you visit.)

• Children:
