Although Zen is known worldwide, there are very few places in Japan where you can enjoy an authentic Zen experience with full English support. This program takes place inside a historic temple that is normally closed to the public.

The experience includes temple admission, a guided Zen (zazen) meditation session, a matcha tea service, an English-speaking guide, and the opportunity to take photos with the monk—making it welcoming and accessible even for first-time participants. After meeting at the temple, your English-speaking guide will begin with a brief introduction to Japanese culture and Zen philosophy. You will then receive personal instruction from a monk on the principles and practice of zazen, followed by a hands-on meditation session.

To conclude, enjoy a calming matcha tea service and an open conversation with the monk. Throughout the experience, you’ll be immersed in a serene and welcoming atmosphere that helps you reset both mind and body. Photo opportunities with the monk and inside the temple are also available, allowing you to take home lasting memories of this rare encounter.
