Located at the foot of Mount Wakakusa in Nara, VILLA COMMUNICO is an auberge that proposes a new food culture rooted in Nara, using the simple yet powerful method of wood-fired cooking. The name "COMMUNICO" is Latin for "to share," reflecting our philosophy of sharing the passion of our producers and the bounty of nature with our guests through our cuisine.

We treat every ingredient with sincerity, from seasonal local vegetables and carefully selected game to river fish raised in clear streams, all delivered by our trusted producers. Each dish is elevated with the rich, smoky aroma of the wood fire. This wood-fire cooking, inspired by the traditional Yamayaki (grass burning) festival of Mt. Wakakusa, is a unique method that locks in the moisture and deepens the umami of the ingredients. The open kitchen, designed to evoke a traditional Japanese home hearth called an "Okudosan," and the interior's minimalist decor create a serene and tranquil space. On our menu, we honor our producers by listing their names and the origin of their products. Our dedication to ingredients is unwavering; we always visit the production sites to confirm the growing environment for ourselves.

Our origin lies in feeling the stories of the ingredients by connecting with the climate, nature, and the passion of the producers in Nara. We then infuse these stories into our dishes to deliver a truly moving culinary experience. We are a place where the heart and passion of the region and its people come together.

  Unfortunately, we cannot accept reservations if there are ingredients that you cannot eat within a wide range.

• Arrival time:

  Please arrive 5 minutes before your reserved time to ensure a timely start of your meal. If we do not hear from you and you are more than 15 minutes late, your reservation may be considered a no-show. Please be sure to contact us if you are running late.

• Dress Code:

  Dress code is smart casual (Please refrain from wearing T-shirts, shorts, sandals, or overly casual attire such as nightwear when visiting.)

• Children:

  Guests aged 12 and above, and able to enjoy the course meal.

• Others:

  We kindly ask for your consideration regarding excessive perfume or fabric softener fragrances.

  Please refrain from using flash or taking photos that include other guests.

  We prepare menu sheets tailored to our guests. If you would like the menu in Traditional or Simplified Chinese, please indicate your preference in the special request section when making a reservation, and we will accommodate as much as possible.
