Located in a quiet residential neighborhood of Hikifune in Sumida, Tokyo, Soba Kappo Nagano is a refined restaurant opened in 2024 by its owner, who brings twenty years of experience as a Japanese cuisine chef and eight years as a soba craftsman.

The heart of the restaurant lies in its soba, made from indigenous buckwheat varieties sourced from regions across Japan and served in two styles: seiro and coarsely ground. These noodles showcase the true depth, aroma, and character of buckwheat, along with the smooth, satisfying nodogoshi—the distinctive swallow and texture that define exceptional soba. The beautifully arranged Eight‑Item Appetizer Platter and the seasonal Japanese course dishes—each crafted with delicate attention to the ingredients—are also highly regarded. Guests can further enjoy thoughtful pairings with the chef’s carefully curated selection of sake.

With just fourteen seats across counter and table seating, the interior offers an intimate hideaway atmosphere wrapped in the warmth of natural wood.
