ENGINE, a Chinese restaurant run by Kazumasa Matsushita, who honed his skills for approximately seven years at the renowned Akasaka restaurant "Uzumaki," is a restaurant where unique ideas and solid techniques breathe life into the cuisine. Featuring seasonal Japanese ingredients, the restaurant skillfully incorporates ingredients not commonly used in traditional Chinese cuisine, such as conger eel, bluefin tuna, namafu (raw gluten), and Kinzanji miso. Using no chemical seasonings whatsoever, the gentle flavors that bring out the natural taste of the ingredients provide the satisfying experience of Chinese food without being tiring to eat, making it popular with a wide range of people. The chef's personal selection of seasonal ingredients is another appealing aspect.

Nestled quietly in an alley in Kagurazaka, the restaurant offers a tranquil space with six counter seats and some table seating.   Please arrive 5 minutes before your reserved time to ensure a timely start of your meal. If you do not contact us and exceed your reservation time, it will be automatically canceled.
