Koraibashi Kitcho （高麗橋𠮷兆 本店）

Koraibashi Kitcho traces its origins back to 1930, when Teiichi Yuki, the eldest son of a restaurateur in Kobe, opened “Otaicha‑dokoro Kitcho” in Shinmachi, Nishi‑ku, Osaka.

In 1949, he acquired a former art dealer’s residence and shop in Koraibashi and established it as “Koraibashi Kitcho Honten,” a traditional Japanese restaurant rooted in the spirit of the tea ceremony. Renowned for its artistic Japanese cuisine and heartfelt hospitality, the restaurant has been cherished by guests for generations.

After more than half a century, the establishment underwent a complete renovation and reopened in July 2019, preserving its historic charm while embracing a refined, contemporary aesthetic.

As the birthplace of Kitcho, Koraibashi Kitcho Honten continues to uphold the philosophy of its founder, Teiichi Yuki.

  Please note that we are unable to accommodate special dietary requirements, such as vegetarian, vegan, or gluten-free meals.

• Arrival time:

  Please arrive 5 minutes before your reserved time to ensure a timely start of your meal.

  If we do not hear from you and you arrive more than 15 minutes after your reservation time, your reservation will be automatically canceled.

• Dress Code:

  Dress code is smart casual (Please refrain from wearing T-shirts, shorts, and sandals when you visit.)

• Children:

  Guests aged 15 and above, and able to enjoy the course meal.

• Others:

  Please refrain from wearing strong fragrances, such as perfume or scented fabric softeners. We may refuse entry to guests whose scents are deemed disruptive to others. Please note that no refunds will be provided in such cases.

  We kindly ask that all guests bring socks for their visit. If you do not have a pair, they are available for purchase on-site.
