About Shunzen Kiraku
Shunzen Kiraku offers a refined yet relaxed dining experience centered on seasonal ingredients, featuring authentic Japanese cuisine alongside Western‑inspired dishes accented with Japanese sensibilities, primarily served à la carte. The restaurant’s name reflects its philosophy: to enjoy high‑quality cuisine in a comfortable, unpretentious setting.
Chef Tamotsu Yoshioka grew up under the influence of his father, a professional chef, and spent sixteen years training at renowned restaurants in Minami (a major downtown area in Osaka) before opening his own establishment in 2024. Free from the constraints of traditional categories, he continues to pursue original dishes that explore a culinary style that moves beyond conventional boundaries.
The menu features approximately fifty to sixty dishes that change daily, based on ingredients the chef personally selects during his morning visits to the market—choosing each item while attuning himself to the day’s climate and season. Course options are available, and à la carte portions are thoughtfully adjusted so guests can enjoy a wider variety of dishes according to their preferences.
The intimate space is defined by a striking single‑slab zelkova wood counter, offering a vivid and engaging dining experience. As a certified sommelier, the chef curates a selection of wines, premium sake, and champagne for special occasions. Even the water reflects the restaurant’s meticulous attention to detail, sourced from the spring near the Yamazaki Distillery. Guests are invited to relax and savor the flavors of the season in a truly welcoming atmosphere.
