About Teruya
After training for over a decade at renowned establishments in Kyoto such as "Kennin-ji Gion Maruyama," "Iida," and "Japanese Cuisine Sakuragawa," Teruya opened its doors on May 12, 2018, in Uehonmachi, Osaka.
The owner had always dreamed of working in a space resembling an art museum. At Teruya, this aspiration is infused not only in the cuisine but also in the tableware and the overall ambiance of the restaurant.
Although we do not have many opportunities to interact with our customers, we serve dishes with the hope that our customers will feel a little "extraordinary" during their time at Teruya and that they will be pleased with what we consider to be the most delicious state.
Teruya offers a monthly changing kaiseki course, showcasing the owner's personal preferences and the refined charm of Kyoto, where they honed their skills. Enjoy a relaxed dining experience in the sophisticated and intimate setting of the counter seating, where you can savor your meal without any sense of formality.

Posted on : 03/21/2024Located near Tanimachi 9-chome station. Teruya was the highlight of my 3 day dinning experience in Osaka and in Japan.
Like with most Kaiseki resuturants, there were many dishes that utilized seasonal ingredients especially seasonal vegetables such as bamboo, beans and sancho.
The resturant was run by the Master Chef and his assistant-both very kind and detailed in their explanation of each dish despite the language barrier.
The ambiance, decor and cutlery are all beatiful and this seven seater resturant would be a perfect place to rent out if possible or go on a date.
