About SUMOLAND TOKYO RYOGOKU 【Cultural Experience】
Learn, taste, and experience sumo firsthand at SUMOLAND TOKYO RYOGOKU, the sacred home of sumo in Ryogoku, Tokyo.
Supervised by the 63rd Yokozuna Asahifuji, you can directly learn authentic sumo techniques and culture.
Enjoy an authentic chicken chanko hotpot, prepared under the guidance of professional sumo wrestlers, while sitting around the dohyo (sumo ring) and witnessing the dynamic bouts up close. You can also try on a sumo suit and wrestle with a former top-division rikishi, or take part in traditional Japanese mochi (rice cake) pounding with a rikishi—then savor the freshly made mochi as dessert.
Photo opportunities with the rikishi and original souvenirs are also available. This is a one-of-a-kind cultural experience you can only find in Japan.
*All shows are conducted entirely in English.
