Michelin-Starred Restaurants in Kyoto That Accept Reservations for Groups of 8 or More
Michelin-starred restaurants in Japan often have fewer seats than their counterparts abroad. This is especially true for sushi and kaiseki (traditional Japanese multi-course meal) establishments, where it's common to find just eight counter seats. As a result, booking all eight seats on a given date can be challenging. In this article, we highlight Michelin-starred restaurants in Kyoto and Osaka that accept group reservations for eight or more guests—perfect for business dinners, family gatherings, or special occasions. All listings are available for booking through OMAKASE JapanEatinerary, an official Michelin partner.
3 Michelin-Starred Restaurants in Kyoto That Accept Instant Reservations for Large Groups
1. Noguchi Tsunagu (のぐち継) / Japanese

Noguchi Tsunagu has earned a Michelin star for five consecutive years. This reservation-only Japanese restaurant specializes in a seasonal omakase (chef’s choice) menu, offering refined kappo-koryouri (a multi-course meal featuring small, home-style plates). A standout dish is the Nikusui, a delicate beef broth with thinly sliced meat. The restaurant also features a spacious private room with horigotatsu (sunken seating), comfortably accommodating groups of around eight.
The renowned Nikusui is made with premium A5-grade sirloin, carefully trimmed to showcase only the most tender and flavorful cuts. The result is a dish that emphasizes the natural sweetness and melt-in-your-mouth texture of the beef. The head chef also incorporates seasonal ingredients from his hometown in the Goto Islands of Nagasaki, adding a regional flair to his elegant kappo creations.
Ideally located just a 4-minute walk from Gion-Shijo Station on the Keihan Main Line, the restaurant is both centrally located and easily accessible.

It was a great treat -
Christine Marx4.8Posted on :05/23/2025We had a fabulous, multi-course tasting menu at Reine des Pres. The chef studied with a renowned 3 star chef in Paris, and it shows! His technique is flawless, and the food is very creative and delicious. We are not big fans of wagyu beef, but his version was outstanding, very tender but not overly fatty taste. His technique with seafood is especially impressive. A memorable experience!

Lilit2.3Posted on :02/09/2025When we walked in to the restaurant I thought we make a mistake. The place is small, there was just the hostess and the chef.
The meal service seemed rushed. We were done in under 45 minutes of the 7 course meal. You can see the kitchen area from counter seats. It was dirty which definitely affected my experience. The dishes were not explained as they spoke little English and tasted good, but too similar to one another in taste and texture. At the end we left hungry and underwhelmed. -
Marcus Mueller4.7Posted on :11/01/2024An outstanding and honest kitchen well worth the relatively modest price.
