2. Sushi Masashi (鮨 将司) / Aoyama

Sushi Masashi artfully combines traditional Edomae-style sushi with creative small plates, earning a Michelin star for several consecutive years—a reflection of its consistent excellence. Chef Yamaguchi trained at the sushi counter of The Ritz-Carlton and later served as executive chef during the openings of Sushi Wakon at both the Four Seasons Hotel and The Peninsula Tokyo.
His sushi is celebrated for its clean, refreshing flavor and light, airy texture—the vinegared rice delicately dissolves in the mouth. Jeannie T4.8Posted on :04/25/2025Chef Yamaguchi and his staff prepared a most excellent edomae-style sushi dinner this week. There was much care placed into every delicious morsel. The otoro in egg sauce just melted in my mouth; even now I can savor it in my memory, it was that good. All the fish served was very fresh, just like what I would expect from such an establishment.
On a side note, I was initially apprehensive about dining alone as a single woman; I had heard some Japanese restaurants can be indifferent or even downright rude to foreigners. To my great relief, every staff member was extremely friendly and spoke English, and I felt very well taken care of.
I would definitely return in a future visit!
3. Takumi Sushi Owana (匠 鮨 おわな) / 渋谷・恵比寿・原宿
