Xin Rong Ji, a restaurant so famous in China that no one is unfamiliar with it, opened its first overseas branch in Akasaka Biz Tower, Tokyo, on February 28, 2024. With its roots in Taizhou cuisine, the restaurant aims to promote the rich food culture and Taizhou cuisine of owner-chef Zhang Yong's hometown, Taizhou, Zhejiang Province, to the world. The Tokyo branch offers a sophisticated fusion of carefully selected Japanese ingredients and seafood from the East China Sea.

The restaurant's motto is “Seek the real thing and you will find beauty in it” (食必求真、然后至美). The restaurant pursues "natural flavor" (鮮味), drawing out the natural umami of the ingredients without relying on seasonings. In particular, the "Jia Hua Dong Hai Wild Yellow Fish" is made from rare yellow croaker, boasting a deep flavor and rich aroma. The "Sour Garlic Braised Bean Curd" is a simple yet exquisite soup dish with a harmonious combination of sourness and umami.
