What an exceptional restaurant! My sister and I had the most divine tempura and especially loved the uni wrapped in super thin rice paper, the scallop with shiitake mushrooms, and tempura egg yolk over beautifully grilled wagyu beef! The chef was humorous and jovial, and the staff was attentive and wonderful! Definitely a must-visit in Osaka!

Definitely recommend Sui Okazaki. Easily the best meal I had in Osaka among several Michelin guide recommendations. Chef Okazaki took great care and attention to detail in preparing each dish which was a feast for the eyes and taste bud. They provide and a warm and welcoming experience for tourist despite the language barrier. Would definitely be back if I'm in Osaka again. I'm sure they will get their well deserved Michelin star soon.

We loved Sui Okazaki. It was our favorite dining experience in Japan. Each of the courses were elegant, delicious and exquisitely presented. Chef Okazaki personally presented and explained each course to us in English. Additionally, as it was the weekend of the Cherry Blossom Festival, he had carefully selected and prepared dishes to highlight the season. The first course was a white asparagus puree with a beautiful pink shrimp that recalled the cherry blossoms. A delicate red and white radish garnish on the next course was evocative of cherry blossoms as well. Sakura shrimp and Sakura trout were featured as well. The Wagyu beef course was flavorful and tender - spectacular in a word (and we previously had a full Wagyu dinner in Tokyo but this one course exceeded). We highly recommend Sui Okazaki and look forward to returning next time we come to Japan.
The restaurant itself is on the second floor of an unassuming building (a little hard to find) and the space is simple and beautiful with a polished maple counter - an elegant and comfortable space.

We had an incredible fine dining experience at Hajime during our honeymoon in Japan. The food was fresh, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. Every course felt like a work of art.

What really made the night stand out was the service. Our server, Minoru, was amazing. He was super attentive, warm, and made us feel completely at home. He walked us through each course and really helped us understand the thought and vision behind the dishes.

Hajime made our honeymoon feel even more special. It wasn’t just a meal, it was an experience we’ll always remember.

Amazing presentation of fish cooked in various ways had blowfish fried and grilled. Totally different in texture. Fish head of golden bream in clear broth was very nice. The sashimi served with pickled radish to replace soy sauce was interesting. Plum rice with fish was quite excellent especially watching the whole process of seeing rice grains washed and cooked in stone pot with perfection without having to open the lid during cooking process. Each dish had clean distinct balanced flavour. Yamamoto san cooked served and cleaned with so much grace, gliding around the kitchen. It was a holistic culinary experience and solo performing art. The tableware and crockeries being handmade pieces truly completed the artistic experience. we are honoured to be presented with this artistry and tasty masterpieces by a great chef.
