Posted on : 10/22/2024Definitely recommend Sui Okazaki. Easily the best meal I had in Osaka among several Michelin guide recommendations. Chef Okazaki took great care and attention to detail in preparing each dish which was a feast for the eyes and taste bud. They provide and a warm and welcoming experience for tourist despite the language barrier. Would definitely be back if I'm in Osaka again. I'm sure they will get their well deserved Michelin star soon.Jennifer Malin
Posted on : 04/07/2024We loved Sui Okazaki. It was our favorite dining experience in Japan. Each of the courses were elegant, delicious and exquisitely presented. Chef Okazaki personally presented and explained each course to us in English. Additionally, as it was the weekend of the Cherry Blossom Festival, he had carefully selected and prepared dishes to highlight the season. The first course was a white asparagus puree with a beautiful pink shrimp that recalled the cherry blossoms. A delicate red and white radish garnish on the next course was evocative of cherry blossoms as well. Sakura shrimp and Sakura trout were featured as well. The Wagyu beef course was flavorful and tender - spectacular in a word (and we previously had a full Wagyu dinner in Tokyo but this one course exceeded). We highly recommend Sui Okazaki and look forward to returning next time we come to Japan.
The restaurant itself is on the second floor of an unassuming building (a little hard to find) and the space is simple and beautiful with a polished maple counter - an elegant and comfortable space.Angelie
Posted on : 03/10/2024This was my first ever omakase experience so I'm not sure how it compares to others but I truly enjoyed the food and service. You can definitely tell Chef Okazaki put thought into the harmonization of his dishes. He is earnest and friendly and does his best to describe the ingredients in English.Viet
Posted on : 12/01/2023My wife and I made dinner reservations a few days in advance before arriving to Osaka. The restaurant was easy to find. We were greeted by the wonderful chef and his staff. It was a quiet Thursday night and we were to lucky to have the omakase dinner in their beautiful restaurant.
Each dish was delicately and masterfully prepared by chef Okazaki-San. The course with seasonal vegetables and fried fish had the perfect amount of salt and the brown rice popcorn made it very playful as we picked at it like popcorn. The remaining dishes, such as the sashimi, fried eel, best lobster, crab rice, and wagyu beef were some of the best I’ve ever had. We also had 4-5 different sakes and they were all delicious and carefully selected to our preferences by his staff.
Although it is our first visit in Japan, I would rank this to be our best meal. On top of all of that, the chef tried their best to speak English and made us feel very welcomed. We loved every minute of the meal. The entire interior decor and restaurant setting is beautiful from the entrance all the way to the restrooms.
I would definitely come back next time I am back in Osaka. Thank you to the chef Okazaki and staff for the amazing meal and memory.
