9 Best Lunch Spots in Ginza
The OMAKASE editorial team, an official partner of the Michelin Guide, is here to introduce our recommended restaurants for lunch in Ginza.
Ginza is renowned as a place where the best of Japanese cuisine comes together.
Features of the Ginza Area
Ginza is the heart of Japan's culinary world, a place where the nation's most skilled chefs and finest ingredients come together. It's no surprise that this district is home to many Michelin-starred establishments, offering an incredible variety of cuisines. Whether you're craving world-class sushi, delicate tempura, traditional Washoku (Japanese food), premium steak, or even exquisite French and Italian dishes, you'll find it all here. At the same time, Ginza also offers beloved local favorites, like savory Tonkatsu (deep-fried pork cutlets) and Yakitori (grilled chicken skewers).
Beyond its incredible food scene, Ginza is also a famous luxury shopping district, with flagship stores of top international brands lining the streets. As you might expect, prices here generally tend to be on the higher.
Lunch is the perfect option if you want to enjoy a delicious meal in Ginza without overspending.
Ginza is known for gathering the best chefs and the finest ingredients, so prices tend to be quite high. However, if you visit for lunch, you can enjoy the same top-quality cuisine at a more reasonable price compared to dinner. In particular, weekday lunches at high-end restaurants come highly recommended. Because Ginza is also a business district, many restaurants offer special lunch menus at lower prices for business people.
In this article, we will introduce a selection of restaurants not only in Ginza, but also in nearby areas such as Nihonbashi.
