Located in Shintomicho, “Hortensia” is a restaurant that offers innovative French cuisine, blending tradition with a contemporary touch.
Owner-Chef Koga crafts exquisite dishes that embody the essence of concentration and umami flavor. Using carefully selected ingredients from across Japan, he creates meticulously considered plates that celebrate the vibrant seasons, harmony in composition, and soothing flavors. Enjoy this culinary journey from the prologue to the epilogue of each course, either at our full-open counter where Japanese spirit meets Western technique or in a private dining room.

Posted on : 11/19/2024This was our first time with a Michelin Star Restaurant and at first thought that we did not belong as this is a completely new experience for us. The staff were incredible and made us feeling very welcomed. While there was a language barrier that made communication more difficult we got around that easily through the use of translation apps and communicated happily with the staff and had fun conversation.
The food spoke for itself and was incredible. Every dish was amazing and had such unique tastes. The presentation for these dishes was very unique and fit very well with the dish that was being served. I would recommend anyone that has the opportunity to visit and taste the food for themselves to go. Highlight of my trip to TokyoAllan Beke
