KOKYU （枯朽）

KOKYU is a “culinary laboratory” where you can enjoy dishes that ingeniously blend tea as a spice, accompanied by a selection of delightful drinks.

Tucked away in Tokyo’s Oshiage district, a quaint warehouse of approximately 30m² welcomes guests with an iron door. The entrance, reminiscent of a tea room, requires visitors to bow slightly upon entry to avoid bumping their heads.

The interior of the restaurant reveals a distinctive worldview, with shelves at the front displaying a diverse array of ceramics from different countries and periods.

The restaurant name “KOKYU” reflects the philosophy of infusing new life into aged or faded objects and techniques. The restaurant features a rotating seasonal menu, complemented by original cocktails and tea-based pairing drinks, designed to offer a unique and memorable gastronomic experience.

• Dietary restrictions / Allergies:

  If you have any specific food allergies or ingredients you cannot consume, please inform us in advance.

  We are unable to accept reservations from guests who cannot consume caffeine, or those who cannot consume fish and meat.

  If you have an allergy to dairy products or gluten, or if you are okay with either fish or meat, we can accommodate you if you let us know at least one week before your reservation.

  We cannot accept reservations if there are ingredients that you cannot eat within a wide range.

• Arrival time:

  We kindly request that you arrive on time so that we can start your meal promptly. Please note that if you do not contact us and arrive after your reserved time, your reservation will be automatically cancelled.

• Dress Code:

  Dress code is smart casual (Please refrain from wearing T-shirts, shorts, and sandals when you visit.)

• Children:

  Guests aged 12 and above are welcome.

• Others:

  We kindly ask for your consideration regarding excessive perfume or fabric softener fragrances.
