LIAISON: Bridging the flavors of French cuisine and Japanese terroir, a French restaurant in Osaka

Just a three-minute walk from Shin-Fukushima Station in Osaka City, LIAISON is quietly located in a residential area one block away from the main street.

Chef Sho Komiya carefully harmonizes ingredients to create a course unique to each season. Komiya's career in French restaurants began at BURDIGARA Osaka.

He then worked as a chef at Nakanoshima BOOCHiC before moving on to UPSTAIRZ. In November 2024, he will become the chef of LIAISON. The name of the restaurant, LIAISON, means "connection" or "bridge."

Komiya's French cuisine is in liaison with ingredients unique to Japan, allowing you to experience the Japanese terroir in every season.

They purchase whole wild game such as Ezo deer from hunters in Hokkaido, and acquire sea eel, flounder, and sea urchin from a fishmonger specializing in Awaji Island seafood, maintaining strong connections with producers and regions.

They do not compromise on the selection of ingredients; aligning with the concept of LIAISON, they prepare each dish with seasonal ingredients, crafting a story through the course meal.

Chef Komiya's style involves creating surprising combinations with ingredients familiar in Japan and incorporating classic French ingredients into a Japanese style. Wines are selected by manager Tomohiro Miyagaki, who is also a sommelier.

Pairings are recommended with a focus on French wines, complemented by Japanese wines and sometimes sake. The interior of the restaurant has a calm atmosphere with a white base.

The spacious open kitchen can be seen from any of the dining tables (22 seats).

They hope that families, friends, colleagues, and couples will enjoy the lively atmosphere of LIAISON and savor the Japanese-French cuisine crafted by a Japanese chef.

• Arrival time:

  Please arrive 5 minutes before your reserved time to ensure a timely start of your meal. If you do not contact us and exceed your reservation time, it will be automatically canceled.

• Dress Code:

  Dress code is smart casual (Please refrain from wearing T-shirts, shorts, and sandals when you visit.)

• Children:

  Guests aged 13 and above, and able to enjoy the course meal.
