I had to do an early sitting, my Japanese is poor, I was a solo diner…and they took such good care of me, using kindness, patience and translation apps. Chef Toyama’s food was creative and surprising, and really delicious. I loved the blend of Japanese seasonal ingredients with some imported techniques. The carrot/uni dish and the flounder/prosciutto/escargot dishes were standouts for me, but it was all good. I also had some great Japanese white wine, but they had a full range of options for drinks. And the space was small, inviting, lovely. I had a really great evening.
