About Tsujifusa
"Tsujifusa" is a Japanese restaurant located a 6-minute walk from Marutamachi Station in Kyoto.
After training for many years at the well-established restaurant "Oryori Hayashi," the owner, Yoshikatsu Tsuji, participated in the launch of "Aji Fukushima" and served as head chef for 11 years.
Opened in May 2024, Tsujifusa is a testament to his passion for culinary artistry.
"Hassun (appetizers)" is known for its beautiful presentation and gentle flavor, making it a feast for the eyes.
One of the highlights of our service is that our madam hostess, who holds certifications as a sommelier and sake expert, carefully selects wines and sake to perfectly complement each dish.
The pure thoughts embodied in the noren curtain, which features hemp cloth—a sacred symbol of Japan—are also reflected in the food served.
Please enjoy a peaceful time that is typical of Kyoto in a special space where you can feel the traditional beauty of Japan and warm hospitality.

Reviews of Tsujifusa

Posted on : 05/19/2025Had an exquisite dinner last night at Tsujifusa. While the husband chef prepares courses in the kitchen adjacent to the counter and occasionally at the counter, his wife, hostess keeps the six guests at the counter fully engaged in the delicous meal serving beverages and explaining each course as she brings it out. Each course is a somewhat complex marriage of complementary flavors that flows seamlessly from one to the next. We were pleasantly full after ten courses and had to opt out of the final two courses which were a rice dish and a fruit composition. The four standout dishes for my wife and me were the abalone, chimaki, ayu and maguro with freshly grated yamaimo served with freshly grated wasabi and oshoyu. I highly recommend Tsujifusa to anyone looking for a Michelin rated meal in Kyoto.河崎紀子
Posted on : 05/28/2025I am satisfied with everything. When it comes to Japanese cuisine in Kyoto, there are high-end restaurants, overly polite? restaurants, and various others. Tsujifusa is a place where you can tell they work very carefully—probably because the preparation is done meticulously. I would like to recommend it to my friends. The bonito tataki, so simple yet so delicious! Thank you very much.Martijn
Posted on : 05/22/2025Amazing meal and experience - in an intimate setting a highly refined meal. Come while they are still building up and at this price point - will be two stars soon if he keeps the cooking at this level!Moritz
