Founded in 2017 in Da Nang, central Vietnam, Nén is a modern Vietnamese restaurant celebrated for its innovative expression of Vietnamese cuisine. Its first international outpost, NÉN TOKYO, has now opened in Daikanyama.
At NÉN TOKYO, every dish is built around a central “story.” Inspired by Vietnam’s rivers, mountains, seas, forests, and skies—as well as the food cultures and traditions rooted in these landscapes—each plate conveys not only flavor but also heritage and craftsmanship. Attention to aroma, texture, temperature, and lingering finish is meticulously considered, guiding guests through a course that unfolds like a narrative. Elements essential to Vietnamese cuisine—fermentation, herbs, and spices—are refined with delicacy, resulting in flavors that balance vibrancy, depth, and elegance.
While honoring the spirit and essence of Vietnamese cooking, ingredients are sourced as much as possible from within Japan. This approach minimizes reliance on imports and reflects a sustainable philosophy, allowing the cuisine to remain true to its roots while embracing the character of Japan’s terroir.
Founder and Executive Chef Summer Le has expanded Nén from Da Nang to Ho Chi Minh City and now Tokyo, earning widespread acclaim, including Vietnam’s first Michelin Green Star. Her work is recognized internationally for seamlessly integrating gastronomy, culture, and environmental consciousness.
The restaurant is housed within an award‑winning building designed by the renowned studio nendo, with interiors by MiraiHouse. Incorporating elements of Trúc Chỉ, a traditional Vietnamese paper art, the space blends contemporary refinement with cultural warmth.

Arrival time:
Please arrive 5 minutes before your reserved time to ensure a timely start of your meal. If you do not contact us and exceed your reservation time 20 minutes, it will be automatically canceled.
We serve our courses simultaneously according to a set schedule. Please note that if you arrive late or if your dining pace is significantly slower than expected, some dishes may be shortened or adjusted accordingly.
