Located in Takanawa, Tokyo, L'ARBRE is a French restaurant built around the theme of “new classic.” Chef Masaki Kikuchi, originally from Tochigi Prefecture, began his career at the Sheraton Tokyo Bay Hotel and refined his craft at establishments such as Ozami Tokyo and Brasserie Ozami Solamachi. Grounded in deep respect for traditional French cuisine, he expresses a new form of classicism through the immersive experience unique to counter dining.
The cuisine features ingredients carefully selected by the chef himself, personally sourced through visits to producers across Japan. To bring out the full character of each ingredient, he places meticulous emphasis on seasoning (assaisonnement) and cooking (cuisson), elevating every dish into something both delicate and layered. The harmony with traditional sauces is exceptional, allowing guests to enjoy French cuisine infused with a distinctly Japanese sensibility.
The warm and tranquil interior creates a soothing, transportive atmosphere. In addition to wine, the restaurant offers diverse pairings including sake and shochu, each thoughtfully chosen to complement the dishes. Here, guests can step away from the everyday and savor a special experience that engages all five senses.
